Presentation on: “Do Habitable Worlds Require Magnetic Fields?”

Two images, side by side, the first depicting a dry, dusty, planet with a magnetic field shielding the planet from incoming rays of light. The second image has curved lines coming from it, representing the magnetic field.

Prof. Dr. David Brain, Principal Investigator (PI) of the MACH Center, has presented to multiple audiences on the topic of whether habitable worlds require magnetic fields. This is an important part of our outreach efforts and has contributed to expanding the discussion on this topic. click here to watch Dr. Brain’s presentation to the ASU School of Earth and Space Exploration.
